Depart early from Huaraz and drive to Llámac, the trailhead for the Huayhuash circuit. Begin a steady hike to Cuartelhuain Camp, a soft, scenic valley that helps with initial acclimatization.

Cross Cacanan Punta Pass (4,700 m / 15,420 ft) with panoramic views of the Huayhuash peaks. Descend to Mitucocha Lake, one of the most beautiful campsites of the trek.

Hike along the shores of Mitucocha and ascend to Carhuac Pass (≈4,650 m / 15,255 ft). Enjoy sweeping views of Yerupajá and surrounding granite faces before descending to camp beside Carhuacocha Lake.

Ascend toward Siula Pass (≈4,800 m / 15,748 ft) for dramatic vistas of steep ridgelines. Descend into the Huayhuash valley and set camp near the village area of Huayhuash.

Cross the scenic Trapecio / Portachuelo area (≈4,700–4,800 m) with wide mountain panoramas, then descend to the sheltered Viconga valley and camp.

A longer trekking day that crosses high ridgelines and opens views to eastern flanks of the range; approach the Cuyoc sector and camp in high pastures.

Cross high points near Cuyoc Pass (≈4,900–5,000 m), enjoy expansive views of snowcapped peaks, then descend into alpine meadows and camp near Guanacpatay.

Descend through serene valleys toward inhabited highland communities; walk through Huatiac and arrive at Cutatambo, where you’ll camp near farmed terraces.

Final highland trekking day through rolling puna and small passes toward Yaucha and Huayllapa, consolidating the circuit and preparing for exit.

Short morning hike to the trailhead and transfer back to Huaraz. End of the trek.
