Itinirary

Day 1: Huaraz – Llanganuco / trailhead – Huillca/Osoruri

Transfer from Huaraz to the Llanganuco area and hike to approach the Cedros basin; camp in the Huillca / Osoruri sector to begin acclimatization.
Overnight camping.

Ascend through valley corridors toward the higher Cedros drainage, arriving at Jancarurish where views toward the Alpamayo basin begin to open.
Overnight camping.

Early climb to Vientunan Pass (≈4,700–4,770 m) with panoramic mountain views; descend into the Cedros valley and camp near alpine meadows.
Overnight camping.

Shorter day focused on reaching the classic Alpamayo northwest viewpoint, spending time for photography and rest before returning to camp.
Overnight camping.

Trek toward the Pucajirca approach, cross varied terrain and set camp in high meadows known as Jancapampa.
Overnight camping.

Cross the final high pass of the itinerary and begin the descent to agricultural valleys near Safuna, moving toward inhabited communities.
Overnight camping.

Final descent to the trailhead and transfer back to Huaraz. End of the trek.
