Itinirary

Day 1 : Huaraz - Llámac - Cuartelhuain

Depart early from Huaraz and drive to Llámac, the starting point of the trek. Begin hiking toward Cuartelhuain Camp, following a wide valley with grazing llamas and gentle terrain ideal for acclimatization.
Overnight camping.

Cross Cacanan Punta Pass (4,700 m / 15,420 ft) with panoramic views of the Huayhuash peaks. Descend to Mitucocha Lake, one of the most beautiful campsites of the trek.
Overnight camping.

Hike along the shores of Mitucocha and continue ascending to Carhuac Pass (4,650 m / 15,255 ft). Enjoy breathtaking views of Yerupajá, Siula Grande, and Jirishanca before descending to Carhuacocha Lake.
Overnight camping.

Ascend toward Siula Pass (4,800 m / 15,748 ft), one of the most scenic points of the trek. Descend into the Huayhuash valley with impressive mountain backdrops and camp near the village of Huayhuash.

Climb gradually to Portachuelo Pass (4,750 m / 15,583 ft), offering wide views of the southern Huayhuash range. Descend toward the Viconga valley, with optional views of thermal springs nearby.
Overnight camping.

Cross the highest point of the trek, Cuyoc Pass (5,000 m / 16,404 ft), with expansive views of snowcapped peaks and deep valleys. Descend to the trailhead and transfer back to Huaraz.
End of the trek.
