Pastoruri is one of the most accessible tropical glaciers in the Cordillera Blanca reachable by road to a high-altitude parking area followed by a short walk to the glacier face and viewpoints. Note that the glacier has retreated significantly in recent decades, but the site remains an important natural attraction and a sobering example of glacial change in the Andes.

Itinirary

Full Day: Huaraz – Pastoruri access road – Glacier viewpoint – Huaraz

Early pickup and scenic drive toward the southern Cordillera Blanca. Arrive at the high roadhead near Pastoruri, take the short guided walk to the glacier face and viewpoints, discuss glaciology and local impacts, then return to Huaraz in the afternoon.
End of the tour.
